Founded in 1942, SoGrape Vinhos has grown from an intimate consortium of Portuguese wine makers to one of the largest Portuguese wine portfolio’s comprising over 830 hectares of vineyards that include renowned brands Mateus Rosé, Sandeman, Porto Ferreira and Offley. In the UK, SoGrape recently repositioned their business by partnering with Liberty Wines Limited solely for their on-trade business whilst setting about a live market trial for their off-trade portfolio through a unique consumer e-commerce portal entitled ‘Ohsomm’. Ohsomm set about revolutionising how to market wines to the consumer, by selecting a portfolio of wines with each product genre being the epitome of their type; the archetypal Sauvignon Blanc or the most laudable Port for example. Each product line was then proposed to befit a mood or moment with the additional advantage of allowing the consumer to ‘personalise’ the wine label to customise the perfect wine to accompany their occasion. Recruited at seed stage as a Brand Ambassador alongside Chef/Restaurateur Jackson Boxer, Christopher Cooper of Drinkonomics was engaged as Ohsomm’s lead customer facing wine expert and wine industry personality for the entire business. Being instrumental in curating the wine range for the UK start-up, Christopher took an active advisory role at board level to develop the commercially viable product portfolio. Identifying and sourcing quintessential wines from the extensive SoGrape roster of producers and partners for each of the category listings, Christopher proudly compiled a portfolio that represented excellent value for the end consumer whilst ensuring that the taste of each product was exemplary. Furthermore, as Ohsomm’s lead wine Brand Ambassador, Christopher featured in photo shoots and filming to publicise the business across the e-commerce portal and other media channels. Bringing gravitas and kudos to product promotions, Christopher engaged with consumers at events, mentored new brand ambassadors, Jemima Jones and Lucy Carr Ellison of 'Tart London’, authored monthly feature articles for publication on the Ohsomm website and led press trips to Porto resulting in feature articles in the Telegraph and ES Magazine about the brand and city. Drinkonomics productions further consulted on Ohsomm’s e-commerce consumer user interface, providing expertise in optimising customisable label opportunities, advising on logistics, packaging and shipping; all with the aim of improving the overall customer user experience, from click to consumption. client ohsomm sector e-commerce discipline brand ambassador | portfolio development | ux evaluation
