In 2013, TV presenter Laura Jackson opened the doors of her East London flat to 16 strangers and for the first time served them a three course meal alongside her good friend and co-host ex-Radio 1 DJ turned TV presenter Alice Levine. This seminal evening of gastronomy and good vibes set the standard for their hugely popular long running series of bi-monthly supper clubs… “we just make food we like to eat: honest, home-cooked, nothing too hard” says Levine. “We wanted our supper clubs to be a blend of having friends over for a dinner party and going out to a restaurant; making people feel welcome even when we’re kicking them out at 1am,” Jackson says. The evenings tend to be fairly raucous affairs, and “when they started,” she says, “we wanted our loud, bubbly friends to tell their loud, bubbly friends”, so word spread quicker than fennel pollen in the breeze. As a result of their enduring popularity, Jackson and Levine followed up with written food columns for Company and Elle magazines, giving rise to their first cookbook, ‘Jackson & Levine – Round To Ours’ published by Quadrille… a collection of stress-free menus for entertaining, beautifully shot by Kristin Perers. For Laura and Alice’s inaugural book launch, Drinkonomics Productions successfully brokered a sponsorship partnership providing a bespoke own-branded wine range to compliment the recipes chosen from the book to showcase at a series of influencer/press supper clubs. The supper clubs were held in succession, each with it’s own colour identity, styled by Tabitha Hawkins and WORM Studio and expertly promoted and marketed by Liz Matthews PR in partnership with Public Eye Communications Ltd.
